Henry Curtis's The Beauties of the Rose

This scarce and delightful work, The Beauties of the Rose, Containing Portraits of the Principal Varieties of the Choicest Perpetuals With Plain Instructions for Their Cultivation, was published by noted nurseryman and artist, Henry Curtis. It was published in two parts, 1850 and 1853, in London. The prints presented here are from the first volume.

The plates contain vibrant depictions of roses at the height of their beauty. According to some sources the depictions of roses in this work are even more true to life than Pierre J. Redoute's renowned works. The roses have wonderful depth of color. A group would look outstanding framed on your walls for years to come.

The prints are on fine paper measuring 8 1/4" by 10 1/4".
