Sherman Denton's Fish and Game of the State of New York

These fine chromolithographs are from Sherman Denton's work entitle Fish and Game of the State of New York published in 1895-1909. Denton was a naturalist from an early age. He interest was broad, and he created several techniques from preserving wildlife. In 1883 he settled back in the United States and took up fish taxidermy. It was from his own, colorful collection that he created these images.

Denton's work holds such esteem that later works are held to his high standards. They are on fine glossy heavy stock paper that measures 9 1/2" by 12".
