Crispin de Passe's Hortus Floridus
These charming engravings are from Crispin de Passe’s Hortus Floridus published in Amsterdam in 1614-15. A contemporary of Besler, de Passe arranged his work according to the seasons but in a much smaller format. These copperplate engravings are on fine chain linked paper with Latin text on the verso. They feature later, professional hand-coloring.
