Description of Griffith Hughes and Georg Ehret's The Natural History of Barbados
These rare, splendid, botanical engravings are from the work entitled The Natural History of Barbados by Griffith Hughes. Georg Dionysius Ehret, famous for his botanical illustrations, corroborated with Hughes in the production of the work and completed all but item ehret03 of the prints for sale here. It was published in London in 1750. The hand coloring was applied recently by a professional. They are on fine chain linked paper that measures ~ 9" by 14".
