Description of Linden's Lindenia
These wonderful chromolithographs come from the rare work entitled, Lindenia Iconographie de Orchidées, Directeur: J.Linden. Linden moved from Luxembourg to Belgium where he imported hundreds of species of Orchids to Europe. Linden then worked with his son in founding a nursery Horticulture Internationale. The plates from this work were printed by top botanical lithographer of the time, Severeyns and de Pannemaeker and others. Published by Gand: F. Meyer-van Loo, Rue de Flandre, 1885-1897. They are on thick stock paper that measures ~ 10 1/2" by 13 3/4".
