Description of Domenico de Rossi's Raccolta de Statue Antiche e Moderne
These original copperplate engravings, dated from 1704, came from an Italian work entitled, Raccolta di Statue Antiche e Moderne Data in Luce sotto i Gloriose Auspici della Santita di N.S. Papa Clemente XI da Domenico de Rossi. Roughly translated this means, A Research on the Ancient and Modern Statues underneath the Supervision of His Holiness, Pope Clement XI by Domenico de Rossi. The illustrations of these statues may be attributed to Pavolo Alessando Maffei. The beauty and detail of these engravings is spectacular, and they would look magnificent when framed and placed on any wall. They are on fine chain-linked paper that measures ~14" by 19".
