A Monograph of the Pheasants
This intricate pheasant photogravure is from William Beebe’s work A Monograph of the Pheasants. The work was published in 1921 by H. F. & G. Witherby in London. The work illustrated over 50 pheasant specis in great detail and beautiful color. Some of the greatest natural history artists of the time contributed to the work including Thorburn, Lodge, and Louis Agassiz Fuertes.
